VERONA – A Verona man was hospitalized after his vehicle struck a utility pole and overturned in the town of Verona early Friday morning, according to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office.
Around 3:05 a.m. Friday, deputies responded to the intersection of Rock Road and Stooks Road in Verona for a report of an accident with unknown injuries.
Deputies say 22-year-old Kyle Kegebein of Verona was driving a 1997 Jeep Wrangler northbound on Rock Road when he lost control of the vehicle due to icy road conditions. Kegebein’s vehicle then left the roadway, drove into a ditch and continued on until it struck a utility pole. The impact with the pole then cause the Jeep to overturn.
Deputies say Kegebein went to a nearby residence to seek help, and he was transported to Oneida City Hospital by Vineall Ambulance to be evaluated.
Vineall Ambulance and the Verona Fire Department assisted the Sheriff’s Office at the scene.
