VERONA, N.Y. -- A Verona man charged with attempted murder for shooting at police officers this past summer has pleaded not guilty.
Justin Carter, 35, was involved in a five-hour standoff with police in August after he reportedly barricaded himself in a Verona barn off of Route 46. Police say Carter used a least one long gun to shoot at officers and vehicles during the incident.
