UTICA, N.Y. --- The Veterans Outreach Center of Utica held the first annual 3-point shootout challenge. The event welcomed people of all ages to come out and put their basketball skills to the test for a great cause.
The challenge raises money for the Veteran's Outreach Center that provides assistance for veterans in need. Each player that registered had to make as many 3 point shots as possible within a certain time limit. The player with the most baskets wins the prize.
Event organizer Al Marrow hopes that each player had fun no matter who gets the prize.
"I hope they take something good from this and learn to have fun with the sport that they play," said Marrow.
Registration for the challenge was 10 dollars for adults and 5 dollars for kids. The grand prize was a mini redbull fridge valued at 275 dollars.
