UTICA, N.Y. (UPDATED) – Utica police were called to the scene of a shooting on Bleecker Street Monday afternoon around 1:15 p.m. near the intersection with Nichols Street.
Police say two people were shot, but no one was found at the scene after the incident.
The victim was heading to his home on Howard Avenue, when police met him there and found that he was shot at least once in the pelvic area.
He was taken to the St. Elizabeth Hospital for emergency surgery. Police say he is expected to survive.
While interviewing the victim, police learned that a second man was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital with a gunshot wound to the pelvis. The other victim also required emergency surgery. Police say the injury was not life-threatening.
