ONEIDA CASTLE, N.Y. – A candlelight vigil will be held Wednesday night for 22-year-old Tyler McBain, who was killed at his home in Oneida Castle Tuesday afternoon.
The memorial will be held at Vets Field, in Oneida, at 8:30 p.m. People are asked to wear masks if planning to attend.
According to New York State Police, two suspects fled the scene on Seneca Avenue before authorities arrived. Troopers received a vehicle description from McBain’s downstairs neighbor, who was at home when the incident occurred.
The vehicle was spotted on the Thruway, but the driver would not pull over for police, leading troopers on a chase before crashing into a ditch near Waterloo.
Police have one suspect in custody, who they are questioning.
No one has been charged at this time.
A GoFundMe account has been set up for McBain’s family.
