CLINTON, N.Y. ---The Village of Clinton usually holds a parade on Memorial Day, but due to the Coronavirus pandemic, they held a smaller service in the village green.
Everyone that attended from the village and the local VFW post were wearing masks. VFW Commander Jeremiah Martinez gave a speech before wreaths were laid at the memorials in the park. Martinez said it was honor to be able to still hold the service.
"First of all its an honor for me to be the commander of the folks here in the community. But its also an honor to be able to perform this through these hard times with our country and working with the mayor we were able to do a small ceremony to respect the ones that are fallen," said Martinez.
The service lasted for a few minutes. VFW members paid tribute to all branches of the military.
