TURIN, N.Y. -- Fire crews are still at the scene of a massive fire that began late Wednesday evening in Lewis County.
Crews responded to a large, unoccupied building at 6308 East Main Street, in Turin after 11 p.m.
Roads going in and around that immediate area of State Route 26 continue to be closed.
According to the Lewis County Sheriff's Office, the entire Village of Turin is under a conserve water mandate until further notice, due to low water levels in their tower.
A caller who was passing by the building notified authorities that it was on fire.
At least seven departments were called in to fight the fire: Turin, Boonville, Lowville, Constableville, Martinsburg, Lyons Falls and Port Leyden.
Responding crews say no one was injured.
There is extensive smoke, fire and water damage to the building.
The cause is under investigation.
This story will be updated as more details are released.
