The public vote on the Herkimer-Fulton-Hamilton-Otsego BOCES proposal to purchase the Remington school building from Central Valley has been postponed.
BOCES District Superintendent Sandra Sherwood says the decision was made after Gov. Andrew Cuomo ordered the postponement of village elections across the state.
The date of the new vote has not yet been set, but Sherwood says it will likely be this school year.
In November, the Central Valley community voted 256-16 in favor of selling the former Remington Elementary School to Herkimer BOCES.
Herkimer BOCES has been renting the building from Central Valley since 2013.
