ROME, N.Y. – Wagner Farms in Rome has a new wagon that has accessibility features to allow more people to explore fun on the farm.
The new wagon, complete with a wheelchair lift, is now compliant with the American with Disabilities Act.
The lift was purchased from a family in Pen Yan, who used if for their son, Leo.
The Wagner Farms owners decided to name the new wagon “The Leo,” and invited the boy and his family to the ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday.
“We needed a name for the wagon. We found a name, very easily this time,” said owner, Ronald Wagner. “We try to name each of the wagons like a boat or a trolley gets a name, same reason, it's good luck.”
The Leo seats 24 adults and two wheelchairs.
Wagner Farms is located on Old Oneida Road in Rome.
