The new McDonald’s restaurant in Washington Mills is now open.
The restaurant at 3918 Oneida St. has been closed since April, when it was demolished in order for the new one to be rebuilt. The former building was built in 1973, making it 45 years old at the time of its demolition.

The ribbon was cut at the new McDonald’s at 10 a.m. on Thursday. The new restaurant features self-order kiosks and a new look.
On Tuesday we checked in with the owner/operator of 24 local McDonald’s restaurants, including the one in Washington Mills.
“It’s up to McDonald's and myself to change with the times,” said Tom Clark. “If we don’t change with the times, we’ll be out of business like Montgomery Ward, Sears Roebuck [and Co.], and the list goes on and on. It's all about changing with your customers and serving them better.”
While construction on the restaurant was underway, the 62 employees who work there worked at other McDonald’s locations around the area.
As part of Tuesday’s festivities, a $1,000 donation was made to the Ronald McDonald House.
