Another hazy day across Central NY due to the smoke from wildfires in Canada. If you are sensitive to pollutants, limit your time outdoors today. Dry for this morning into the afternoon before showers and thunderstorms develop, primarily after 3-4PM.
The best chance for strong thunderstorms looks to be south of the Mohawk Valley. While the Mohawk Valley and North Country could see a few storms, thunderstorms that develop across the Southern Valleys could turn severe, with damaging winds. hail and heavy rain.
Within any thunderstorm, heavy rain is possible but the good news is these storms will not be staying in one place. Because of that, there is only a marginal risk for excessive rainfall for today, with rainfall totals between 0.50"-1.00" of rain.
Thankfully, the past several days have been relatively dry across the region.
