WESTMORELAND N.Y.-A Westmoreland family is moving away in June, and will never step foot in Westmoreland High School again.
The Sovare Family, who has lived in Westmoreland most of their life, is moving to Victor, New York near Rochester.
With Schools closed for around two months, Teachers and Staff got together for a drive-by parade Thursday to say goodbye to the Sovare Boys.
The parade started in the Thruway Exit 32 Parking Lot, and went past the Sovare Family Home on Deans Highway.
Marcy Thompson, a Teacher at Westmoreland High School tells NEWSChannel 2 the Westmoreland community wanted to bring closure to the family.
"The boys were very upset, they actually found out they were moving in around October-November, and they were very upset." said Thompson. "The shutdown was even more devastation to them because they couldn't have any closure with their friends and teachers." Thompson added.
Thompson says the Westmoreland Community has always come together no matter what, and the Sovare family was certainly surprised that the parade was for them Thursday.
The Sovare family's move from Westmoreland to Victor is scheduled for the first week in June.
