Utica, N.Y. - So where can you watch an actual fireworks show tonight? In the immediate Utica/Rome area, the answer is, no place!
Municipalities have said it is just too risky to get large gatherings of people together right now during the coronavirus pandemic.
According to newyorkupstate.com, they say they normally list about 150 different shows across upstate New York each 4th of July weekend on their site, but this year they only know of 12 that are happening all across the upstate region, with only one here in our vicinity.
That one is being held in Hamilton at Colgate University.
It's a drive-in event at Whitenall Field and it starts at 9:30 P.M..
A drive-in event means, you can come enjoy the fireworks, but you must remain in your vehicle.
According to Colgate University's website, the parking area at Whitenall Field will open at 6:30 P.M..
