St. Moritz, Switzerland - As the United States youth Olympic team marched into the opening ceremony for the 2020 Youth Olympic Games in St. Moritz, Switzerland, a local athlete was leading the pack.
Reannyn Weiler, a Whitesboro native, was selected as one of two flag bearers to represent Team USA at the opening ceremonies.
Weiler, a luge slider, was selected by U.S. coaches and athlete peers to carry the flag.
There were two ceremonies that opened the Games, in each of the host cities, both St. Moritz and Lausanne.
Weiler is set to compete in the historic debut for women's double luge at the Youth Olympics, along side her teammate Maya Chan, on January 18 in St. Moritz.
