CLINTON, N.Y.- The Arc is working on a production of the Musical Willie Wonka.
Kids who are with the ARC Stageworks group put on a production every year, practicing throughout the summer, and with a show in September.
A full cast of 95 kids and adults had a dress rehearsal Thursday night where they have to get all the whistles and bells before the show opens Friday.
The Stageworks Music Director Ellie Hadity told NewsChannel 2: "Every week since April, the group has been practicing on Tuesdays and Thursdays to get ready for this production. We've done costumes, sets, props, acting, choreography, the whole thing, everything that goes into a musical we have been doing all summer”.
Chris Duck, who is playing Willie Wonka says that it is a fun way for people with learning disabilites to get involved.
"Everybody gets to have fun, and people with learning disabilities can get out of the house and stop watching TV or playing games like MIKE TV and have some fun doing this."
The musical takes place Friday at the Clinton High School Auditorium. Doors open at 6:00 pm, with the show starting at 7:00 pm.
Admission is $10.00. Children 12 and under get in Free.
