WESTMORELAND, N.Y. – Three vehicles were involved in a crash that sent a woman and four children to the hospital Friday, according to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol.
The accident happened at the intersection of Route 5 and Route 233 in Westmoreland.
Maciol says 30-year-old Colton J. Hepperly, of Vernon, failed to yield the right of way while traveling eastbound, and crashed into 34-year-old Kimberly Kaczor, of New York Mills.
A third vehicle, driven by 32-year-old Mason Powell, of Vernon, was hit by Hepperly when he spun around in the intersection after the initial collision with Kaczor.
Powell and the two children in his vehicle were evaluated at the scene and did not require any medical attention.
Kaczor, and the four kids in her car, were sent to St. Elizabeth Medical Center to be treated for minor injuries.
Hepperly was issued several traffic violations, and is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 23.
