AMSTERDAM, N.Y. – A Schenectady woman was arrested after allegedly driving six kids around Montgomery County to steal President Trump campaign signs.
Deana M. Algarin, 45, is accused of driving the six juveniles in the area of Amsterdam and Tribes Hill, so they could remove lawn signs showing support for Trump and Congresswoman Elise Stefanik, R-21.
New York State Police stopped Algarin on County Highway 103 in Schenectady County. Troopers say the stolen signs were found inside Algarin’s vehicle.
Algarin was arrested and charged with six counts of endangering the welfare of a child, criminal possession of stolen property, possession of marijuana, petit larceny and two citations for no seatbelt on a child less than 15.
She is scheduled to appear in Amsterdam, Glen and Glenville courts to answer charges at later dates.
