ROME, N.Y. – A woman who was airlifted to the hospital after a Rome crash last month has been charged with impaired driving following a six-week investigation.
According to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, 25-year-old Jenna Dole was driving her SUV down Rome-Taberg Road on Oct. 1, when she rear-ended another vehicle, driven by 47-year-old Nicole Podkowka.
Dole is charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, third-degree assault and multiple traffic violations.
The day of the crash, Dole was airlifted by Mercy Flight to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, and Podkowka was taken to Rome Memorial Hospital to be treated for injuries.
Dole was released on an appearance ticket and is expected to return to Rome City Court at a later date.
