ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - An upstate New York woman said New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo grabbed her face and kissed her cheek at her home during a visit to inspect area flood damage, becoming the latest woman to accuse the embattled governor of inappropriate behavior.
Sherry Vill made the allegations Monday during a Zoom news conference with attorney Gloria Allred, describing a spring 2017 visit to her Rochester-area home after flooding near Lake Ontario.
"He said 'that's what Italians do, kiss both cheeks.' I felt shocked, and didn't understand what had just happened, but knew I felt embarassed and weird about his kissing me," said Vill. "I am Italian, and in my family, family members kiss. Strangers do not kiss -- especially upon meeting someone for the first time."
There was no immediate comment from the Cuomo administration. A series of women, some who worked for Cuomo, have accused the Democrat of sexual misconduct.
Allred says she will be presenting a statement and a photo of Governor Cuomo kissing Vill at that visit in 2017 to New York State Attorney General Letitia James to include in her investigation into the Governor.
