WATERTOWN, N.Y. – New York State Police are investigating a case of product tampering after a woman found two nails inside candy bars she bought at the Watertown Walmart.
Police say the nails were the size of needles, and the woman found them in two individually wrapped bite-sized Almond Joy candy bars.
The woman purchased the candy about two weeks ago. Police are continuing to investigate the incident, and ask anyone with information to call 315-366-6000 and reference case No. 9900524.
Ahead of Halloween, police are also reminding parents to check candy for any signs of tampering before allowing kids to eat it.
