COLUMBIA, N.Y. -- A woman was taken to the hospital after crashing her car into the woods on Route 28, Monday.
Troopers arrived at the scene in the town of Columbia around 8:30 a.m., where witnesses say they pulled a woman from her Chevrolet Malibu.
They say the car veered off the roadway, hit a boulder, went airborne and crashed partially into the woods along Route 28. The car was close to hitting the wires, according to witnesses.
Neighbors say the woman had bruising to her arms, and troopers confirmed that her injuries were not considered to be life-threatening.
The cause of the crash is under investigation, but officials have ruled out any foul play -- including drugs and alcohol.
