Department of Environmental Conservation Police tell NEWSChannel 2 a woman in her 50's was shot in the hip early Sunday morning in the Town of Lee.
It appears to be some sort of hunting accident about 300 yards off Streun Road in the area of State Route 26.
Authorities are not yet releasing the name of the victim. They tell us she was rushed to a local hospital and is in stable condition.
Our crews could see the woman being put into an ambulance around 9 a.m.
State DEC was assisted by the Oneida County Sheriff's Department and other police and rescue agencies at the scene.
DEC officials do say this was an accidental hunting accident.
