UTICA, N.Y. (UPDATED) – No one was hurt after Utica police say a woman barricaded herself inside a North Utica home Wednesday, threatening to harm herself and others.
Police were called to the house on Utica Road just after 9 a.m. for a domestic menacing complaint.
According to police, 37-year-old Amanda Bidwell barricaded herself inside the home when officers arrived to the scene.
Around 10:40 a.m., police were able to take Bidwell into custody peacefully. She was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and menacing.
Jefferson Elementary School was placed on lockout during the incident, but police say students were not in danger at any time.
