UTICA, N.Y. – Mohawk Valley Business Women’s Network held its first Women in Business Expo at the Delta Hotels by Marriott in Utica Wednesday.
The expo featured 66 area businesses owned and managed by women across the Mohawk Valley.
MVBWN president, Gina Trzepacz-Timpano, says they hope to continue holding events like this in the future.
"This is actually our first showcase and we are hoping to make it an annual event. I have just been thinking about this for years and I just recently took over the presidency, and just thought it was a great way to showcase the women that are running businesses here local," said Trzepacz-Timpano.
The public was invited to attend the event, and a 50-inch television was also raffled off, with proceeds going to the YWCA domestic violence program.
The MVBWN was founded in 1981, to encouraging female entrepreneurship and empowering women who own businesses.
