UTICA, N.Y. – Proctor students have a brand-new field house at the school’s stadium, along with many other upgrades made possible through funds from the district’s capital improvement project.
A ribbon-cutting was held on Monday at the field house.
Voters approved the $15 million project in 2018. About $9 million of that went to the new field house, bathrooms, scoreboard, track and turf.
“There wasn’t a lot here. But we came back for the school year and it is completely renovated, completely changed; it looks great,” said Julia Mazzotta, a junior at Proctor High School.
A new scoreboard and sound system will also be installed at the Proctor gym.
Donovan and John F. Kennedy middle schools will also get upgraded athletic facilities through the project.
