ROME, N.Y. -- The 46th annual World Series of Bocce begins Thursday in Rome at the Toccolana Club.
Bocce, originally an Italian lawn, bowling game is now played on courts.
The Toccolana Club has 15 bocce courts used for men's, women’s and co-ed bocce leagues.
Teams come from all over the country to compete.
World Series of Bocce is held through July 21, and it attracts over 120 teams and thousands of spectators.
Prize money for the event is more than $30,000 this year.
