WHITESBORO -- The 11th annual 'Women of Worship' awards was held Saturday at the Hart’s Hill Inn.
The awards recognize women throughout the Mohawk Valley who do inspiring work at their church.
14 women got plaques for their work, including one woman who has been a member of her church for more than 70 years.
Attendees enjoyed lunch, and a live band.
Organizers say they are committed to honoring women who provide care, compassion, and inspiration to local churches.
"The bottom line of this event is love,” event founder Susan Woods said. “People love God. They love their churches, and they love what they do. And so love is good, and it can only produce good. And that's what we're looking at; interested in producing more good for our community."
Organizers hope to expand the award ceremony and launch an award program recognizing outstanding men in the community.
