ROME, N.Y. – A ‘Worship Without Walls’ outreach program is held by the First United Methodist Church in Rome every Tuesday.
Pastor Brian Lothridge says anyone can stop by, just outside the Neighborhood Center at 199 W. Dominick St., for free lunches and toiletries if needed. He says the mission is to show God’s love through the program.
“We chat with anyone who is walking by. Our main goal is to show people that god loves them. we are here to be a tangible experience of God’s love,” said Lothridge.
Donations come from local businesses and residents.
The program started 18 months ago after a similar program was established at the Veterans Outreach Center in Utica.
