UTICA, N.Y. - Utica Yeti goalie Kobi Johnson has been dubbed one of the top players in the country, being named to the Interstate Box Lacrosse Association's Mid-season Top 25 Prospect List, Friday.
It's the first of three Top 25 Prospect Lists that will be released this year, the others coming after regionals on the last weekend of August, and after nationals in September.
Johnson is 4-1 with 109 saves and a .769 save percentage between the regular season and playoffs this year. Any save percentage .600 or above in box lacrosse is considered to be above average or elite.
The Top 25 prospect list is a way to recognize the top talent around the country as it relates to potential interest from National Lacrosse League franchises, as the IBLA has an affiliation with the professional box lacrosse league.
Johnson and the Yeti are next in action on Saturday at 6 p.m., as they face the Salt City Eels for the first game of the Empire North Division championship series at the Clinton Arena.
