State fire investigators continue to investigate the house fire in Yorkville that killed a seven-year-old girl and her mother last month.
On Jan. 18, a fire broke out at 95 Campbell Ave. in Yorkville. Heather Mishlanie, 41, and her daughter, seven-year-old Taylor Mishlanie, were both pulled from a second-floor apartment. Taylor was pronounced dead shortly afterward at a local hospital, and her mother died several days later.
State fire investigators have determined that the fire was accidental. While they believe it was an electrical fire, they still don’t know where it started, and they continue to investigate.
