UTICA - A Utica teenager now faces an additional charge in the shooting death of a fellow teen last summer.
19-year-old Jorge Campos appeared in Oneida County Court on Friday after a grand jury returned an indictment of second-degree murder in the death of 17-year-old Stefan Medina on August 19, 2018.
Campos had previously been indicted on charges of manslaughter, criminal possession of a weapon, and criminal possession of a firearm after he was accused of shooting Medina on the 100 block of Elizabeth Street.
Campos was arrested on August 28, and is accused of possessing heroin at the time of his arrest. He is scheduled to be back in court on February 6.
