Jason Powles is the anchor for the Live at Five Newshour, NEWSChannel 2 at Six, NEWSChannel 2 at 10 on the CW and NEWSChannel 2 at 11.

Jason has been with NEWSChannel 2 since July 1996. From 2012 to 2019, he was the anchor on NEWSChannel 2 at Sunrise and NEWSChannel 2 at Noon. He was also the sports director at WKTV for 14 years.

From local sports to local news, Jason tells the stories that matter most to viewers. He has helped NEWSChannel 2 win numerous AP and NY State Broadcaster awards in his over two decades with the station. His work hosting race coverage of the Boilermaker Road Race helped earn WKTV multiple Associated Press Broadcast Awards.

Jason is from Rotterdam, N.Y., and grew up loving television. His mother said his first words included "Cronkhite!" The interest in the field led him to study public communications at the College of Saint Rose, where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in May 1992.

He's married to his lovely wife Anne and has two wonderful daughters, Rachael and Jillian.
