The call came in around 5:30 Friday evening for two juveniles stranded on some rocks in the West Canada Creek near the lower Trenton Falls Dam. The two had been fishing when the water suddenly started to rise.
Little ghosts and goblins, a few superheroes, even a baby shark or two, all enjoyed a nice evening filled with tricks and treats.

That announcement came during an update from officials of Durham School Services on the current status of hiring more drivers. With the recent termination of some of the Durham bus drivers, however, they seem to be taking a step backward.

The pantry is setting up shop throughout October along West Street at the Johnson Park Center on Mondays and Tuesdays. Families in need can either drive-thru to get the food they need, or walk, depending on what day it is. The JPC Food Pantry operates rain or shine.
6 local marching bands – Westmoreland, Kingston, Rome Free Academy, Mohonasen, New Hartford, and West Genesee - took to Don Edick Field at New Hartford high school, for the 48th annual Spartan Spectacular marching band competition.
It was a special night under the lights at HCCC's Wehrum Stadium for the Mohawk Valley Challengers' annual flag football homecoming game as they took on the Honey Badgers.
"It's neat being here and knowing the famous Uticans that once lived here, and the famous people who once visited here,” said Landmarks Society of Greater Utica President, Steven Grant.
