Title: Digital Content Manager

Erica Spado is the Digital Content Manager at WKTV NewsChannel 2, which includes overseeing the station’s website, apps, and social media platforms. She joined the team in November 2018.

As a true Mohawk Valley native, Erica moved from Utica at a young age to Westmoreland, where she grew up, graduated high school and after college decided she wanted to raise a family in the same district one day.

She graduated from SUNY Cortland with a bachelor’s degree in Spanish, and later went on to get her master’s degree in New Media Journalism.

Erica spent 5 years commuting back and forth from the Valley to Syracuse, where she worked as a Digital Content Producer at Spectrum News, formerly Time Warner Cable News, and back when she started – YNN. She says she doesn’t miss the 45 minute commute from Westmoreland one bit now that she has joined the WKTV team.

When she’s not at work, Erica likes to spend time with her family, especially her niece and nephew, Ava and Emilio, her two dogs, Marley and Lola, and her husband David. She loves to cook with her mom, work on her fixer-upper farmhouse, and takes full advantage of the few summer months that the area sees. She is also a parishioner of Historic Old St. John's Catholic Church in Utica.
