A local wrestler received a standing ovation and is getting national attention for an incredible act of sportsmanship. Central Valley Academy sophomore, Marek Bush, turned down his opponent's forfeit and took the loss himself.

going to require some kind of imaging, and that imaging is immediately going to give you the answer." a local wrestler received a standing ovation this weekend for an incredible act of sportsmanship. the athlete turned down his opponent's forfiet and took the loss himself. and this story is gaining national attention - a reporter for cbs news was in ilion - and so was newschannel twos alicia daddario. central valley academy wrestler - marek bush - may not have won the tournament, but he definitely came out a winner. bush's finals opponent - indian river's logan patterson - held a commanding 5-0 lead - but the match came to a screaching halt. he posted his arm i think he dislocated his elbow or sprained it and then i heard him scream he jsut rolled off, jholding his elbow, screaming. after that - everyone expected bush to complete the comeback win. but that's not what happened. bob says: actually i was working with the injured wrestler. my assistant coach wasspeaking with marek. i didnt know it until i looked back at the lm he was vibly shan by the whole incident when he went back out i turned to him to tell him not to do anything. before i could say a word, he said i got this dad, i know what to do. withthe fin 30 seconds ticking away -bush - did what not many kids would do - he laid on the mat and allowed patterson to finish what he started. i aeady sent my sh if i w gonna win the match i already sent it. i sent a big throw and it didnt workso he won that match. if he didnt get hurt, he probably wouldve just won the match fair and square. he deserved that win, that was all his match. he dominated the entire time. as a coach and as a dad - bob bush could not have been more proud. very proud. obviously he's gonna make the rit decisions in life if he's more proud. very proud. obviously he's gonna make the right decisions in life if he's making decision like this now as a 10th grader. the impressive part of it all - itwas a split cond decision made without hesitation. winning isn't evething ihe spt of wreing. tre's mo to the spor than getting yr hand raed at the end of the match. and it shows who you are as a person not just winning the match.
