Upstate Family Health Center is offering Walk-Up COVID Vaccination Clinics.

Over 100 area refugees and local immigrants came in for their booster shots, and some were getting their first COVID vaccination.

The Center has already vaccinated hundreds of people, but are faced with language barriers.

There are interpreters on site to help with any translations necessary.

While they are pleased with their success rates, there are other challenges to overcome.

Shelly Callahan is the Executive Director at The Center.

"It has just been a continuously moving target every step of the way. You figure out what the message is today. You get it translated, you get the message out there, and it changes tomorrow, so I would say that has been the most challenging part of this, along with all the misinformation, all the politicizing of things."

The Upstate Family Health Center is hosting more vaccination clinics. No appointment is necessary and there is no cost to be vaccinated.
