Rome woman accused in robberies at 2 local businesses

Rome police arrested a woman suspected in two local robberies over the fall season.

ROME, N.Y. – A Rome woman is accused of two armed robberies that occurred at local businesses over the fall.

Police say 30-year-old Camille L. Dyous was charged in a September robbery at OJ’s Smoke Shop on South James Street and a second robbery at Bill’s Variety on West Thomas Street in November.

Dyous allegedly pulled out a gun and demanded cash during both incidents. Police say cash, cigarettes and cell phones were stolen from OJ’s and an undisclosed amount of cash at Bill’s Variety.

Dyous is charged with two counts of second-degree robbery, but police say more charges are possible.
