...WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 AM EST FRIDAY...

* WHAT...West winds sustained 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.

* WHERE...Most of central NY and Bradford County PA. The strongest winds will be across the Finger Lakes and into the western Mohawk Valley.

* WHEN...To 1 AM Friday.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Light snow showers may produce blowing snow with reduced visibility.

Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.

* WHAT...West winds 15 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.

* WHERE...In most of eastern New York and most of western New England.

* WHEN...Until midnight.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.


Blizzard Warning

Areas Affected: Hamilton; Northern Herkimer

NWS Albany (Eastern New York and Western New England)

...BLIZZARD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM EST FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Blizzard conditions expected. Total snow accumulations of 8 to 18 inches for areas along and north of Route 28 including Old Forge and Indian Lake across the western Adirondacks. Wind gusts at or above 50 mph will produce blowing and drifting snow along with visibility to near zero at times.

* WHERE...Northern Herkimer and Hamilton Counties.

* WHEN...Until 4 PM EST Friday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible due to the lake effect snows. Areas of blowing snow will produce near zero visibilities. The strong winds could cause some downed trees, tree limbs, and power lines resulting in isolated to scattered power outages.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snowfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour are possible. The combination of gusty winds and falling snow will result in whiteout conditions.

Travel should be restricted to emergencies only. If you must travel, have a winter survival kit with you. If you get stranded, stay with your vehicle.

* WHAT...Blizzard conditions. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 4 feet. Winds gusting as high as 55 mph.

* WHERE...The Eastern Lake Ontario Region.

* WHEN...Until 4 PM EST Friday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Areas of blowing snow will significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions will impact the commutes through Friday. Strong winds could cause some tree damage and result in isolated power outages.

Strong winds will cause significant blowing and drifting snow, frequently reducing visibilities to zero. Travel is strongly discouraged.
