NWS Albany (Eastern New York and Western New England)

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM EST THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 6 inches with locally as high as 9 inches in southern and central Hamilton County. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph in northern Herkimer and northern Hamilton Counties.

* WHERE...Northern Warren, Northern Herkimer, Hamilton and Northern Fulton Counties.

* WHEN...From 5 AM to 5 PM EST Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions and reduced visibilities. Snowfall rates of an inch per hour possible at times from 8 am to 1 pm.

Slow down and use caution while traveling.

...WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 8 AM THIS MORNING TO 5 PM EST THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...South winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.

* WHERE...Jefferson and Lewis counties. Highest winds expected along the north slopes of the Tug Hill Plateau, northern Black River Valley, and near Fort Drum.

* WHEN...From 8 AM this morning to 5 PM EST this afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few isolated power outages may result.

Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 PM EST THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Snow and blowing snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 7 inches. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.

* WHERE...Lewis county. Greatest accumulations across the southern portion of the county.

* WHEN...Until 3 PM EST this afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Plan on snow covered and slippery road conditions and greatly reduced visibility. The hazardous conditions will impact the morning commute.

Periods of snow will result in snow covered roads and limited visibilities. Slow down and use caution while driving. Submit snow reports through our website or social media.

NWS Binghamton (South Central New York and Northeastern Pennsylvania)

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 PM EST THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Snow and blowing snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 7 inches.

* WHERE...Northern Oneida County.

* WHEN...Light snow begins by daybreak. The snow quickly becomes steady and even heavy at times this morning. Periods of snow continue into the early afternoon, before mixing with and changing to rain showers late in the day.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery and snow covered roads. The hazardous winter weather conditions could impact the morning commute.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Southeast winds at 10 to 20 mph, with gusts up to 30 mph will create areas of blowing and drifting snow. Temperatures will be in the lower 20s early this morning, then rising to near 30 degrees by midday. It should warm above freezing and into the upper 30s by late afternoon. Snowfall rates could exceed 1 inch per hour at times this morning.
